NEW DELHI : Continuing with its aggressive marketing strategy, after having announced a promotional scheme for DPD movement recently, CONCOR has again come up with a discounted rail freight scheme to improve import loads to its terminals from Gateway Ports and enhance empty inventory position at its terminals for facilitating exporters.

The given scheme as per following details has come up in effect from 1st November-2022 and shall remain valid till 31st March 2023.

The Highlights of the Scheme:

As per the said scheme, Shipping lines shall be eligible to receive freight refund on empty repositioning equivalent to incremental import loads diverted to CONCOR terminals on averaging basis. To ascertain the volume of freight refund on empty positioning for the month of November 2022, CONCOR shall consider average import loads moved by Shipping Line from Gateway Ports to CONCOR terminals during the month of November 2020 and 2021. In a similar fashion, working for freight refund for December’22/subsequent months upto March 2023, shall be considered accordingly.

It is said in the release that the benefit of average freight discount on repositioning of empty containers from Ports/Portside CFSs to hinterland terminals will only be provided for the volume offered by the shipping line in the same month on which incremental import would be offered by the shipping line and will not be extended for the subsequent months. However, there is pre-condition to be fulfilled by the shipping line that such empty containers repositioned should be used by the shipping lines for export purpose only at the hinterland terminals of CONCOR
