Deendayal Port Authority to develop Oil Jetty No. 7 & 8 at Old Kandla

GANDHIDHAM : Deendayal Port Authority is the largest liquid handling port in the country, handling all kinds of liquid bulk i.e. Petroleum products, petrochemicals, acids, liquefied gases and vegetable oils.

Presently, Port is having 6 Oil Jetties for handling liquid bulk cargo having capacity of 12 MMTPA. The existing Oil Jetties are almost fully utilized.

Hence, to cope up with the demand of growing trade, in line with the goals of PM Gati Shakti, Deendayal Port is developing New Oil Jetties i.e. Oil Jetty No. 7 & 8 at a cost of Rs. 88 Cr & Rs 191 Cr respectively through internal resources. Also, initiated action for development of Oil Jetty No. 9 to 11. Under PPP mode.

Port is also constructing the four lane approach road having length of around 3km & 6.5km for better connectivity with the Oil Jetty No. 7 & 8.

The scheduled date of completion of the Oil Jetty No. 7 & 8 is Sept-2022 & April-2023 respectively.

Oil Jetty No. 7 & 8 will handle the Large Size Vessels i.e. upto 65000 DWT & 80000 DWT respectively with 13m depth.
After constructing Oil Jetty No. 7 & 8, Port will enhance the capacity of around 5.5 MMTPA, which will reduce the vessel waiting period and increase the import & export of Liquid cargoes.

Deendayal Port is poised to become the liquid hub not only of India but Southern Asia..

The infrastructural development in such a gigantic scale is attributed to the dynamic leadership of the Chairman Shri S.K.Mehta.
