Deendayal Port Trust holds Board Meeting, discusses developmental issues

GANDHIDHAM : The Deendayal Port Trust Board Meeting No.5 of 2021-22 was held on 10-01-2022.

The following trustees, apart from Shri Sanjay K. Mehta, IFS the Chairman, attended the meeting:
1) Shri Nandeesh Shukla, IRTS, Dy Chairman-DPT
2) Shri Arvind Chaudhary, Economic Adviser, Rep. Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways
3) Shri Talla Venkata Ravi, IRS, Commissioner of Customs, Rep. Deptt of Customs
4) Shri L Satyanarayan, Labour Trustee-DPT
5) Capt. Santoshkumar Darokar, Rep. MMD (Virtually)
6) DIG B. Murugan, Rep. Coast Guard (NW) (Virtually)
7) Comd. Nitin Bishnoi, Rep. Defence Services, Navy (Virtually)

The following important items, inter alia, were considered by the Board: –

> Monetary Compensation /Ex-Gratia to 21 dependent members / legal heirs of Port Employees / Workers who have died due to COVID-19 contamination while doing their duty.
> Contribution of Rs. 6.86 Crores to CSR Fund of DPT for current financial year i.e. 2021-22
> Development, Operation and Maintenance of Oil Jetties Nos. 9,10 & 11 for handling all types of liquid cargo at Old Kandla, under PPP Mode, for a concession period of 30 years
> Introduction of 5 days working for Ministerial Staff of DPT.
> Levying of Royalty @ Rs. 6=02 Per MT from Stevedores for combined Stevedoring and Shore Handling Activities – w.e.f. 20/10/2021
> Fixing of Tariff for handling of wind blades and other Over Dimension Cargo (ODC) through Tandem/Twin Operation by Port Cranes.
> Development of Oil Jetty to handle Liquid Cargo and Ship Bunkering Facilities at Old Kandla”- Non-achievement of Activity/ level of completion of the Project at 2nd Milestone date of the Project Schedule, as per Concession Agreement & Levy of Liquidated Damages on the Concessionaire
> Hiring of 2 Nos. Steel Hull Mooring Launches with crew and Mooring Gang at Deendayal Port, Kandla for a period of 5 (Five) years.
> Allotment of covered Godowns for storage of Agri-Products
> Development of Marine Liquid Terminal facilities consisting of SPM & two product jetties in KPT waters at OOT, Vadinar, Deendayal Port on captive use basis.
> E-Tender cum E-Auction for the allotment of various sizes of plots for the purpose of Commercial & Institution situated at East of National Highway 8-A, Gandhidham on 30 years lease on as is where is basis.
> E-tender cum E-auction for the allotment of various sizes of plots for the purpose of Godowns/Warehouses situated at Kandla on 30 years lease on as is where is basis.
> Proposal for MOU between Atmiya University, Rajkot and Deendayal Port Trust for One Month Internship for their BBA/BCOM (Logistics) and MBA (Logistics) Students at DPT.
> Conversion of leases from Lease Hold to Free Hold (Residential & Composite) – Approval thereof
> Construction of Road Over Bridge (ROB) at LC–236B in Addition to Ongoing Work of “Construction of Interchange Cum Road Over Bridge (ROB) at LC- 236(Kutch Salt Junction) On NH-141 In The State of Gujarat On (EPC) Mode”
> Development, Operation and Maintenance of Oil Jetty No.09, for handling all types of liquid cargo at Old Kandla, under PPP mode, for a concession period of 30 years.
> Approval for implementation of Cyber Crisis Management Plan and Information Security Policy in Deendayal Port Trust.
> “Supply, installation, testing & commissioning of Sprinkling System for coal dust suppression in 34-hectare coal yard with five Years Operation & Comprehensive Maintenance Contract”.
> “Development of Mechanized fertilizer & other clean cargo handling facility on DBOT basis under PPP mode at berth no. 14 at DPT”, for provisional qualification of bidders, revised Feasibility report & bidding documents based on MPA Act, 2021 & new MCA, invitation and issue of RFP.
> Maintenance of dredging at Berth pockets, surrounding of Landing Pontoon, Turning Circle and Approach Channel of Ghogha – Gujarat.

Board Meeting was held in a very cordial atmosphere and the Port’s overall development was the main focus of deliberations.
