Exim Club launches a Women’s Wing on occasion of International Women’s day

VADODARA : Exim Club  launches a Women’s Wing on occasion of International Women’s day.The main objective is to promote more women to create a platform & environment to rise to leadership positions. Exim Club‘s goal is to increase the participation of women in International business for growth , sustainability and enhancing women’s participation in gender equality through webinars, seminars conduct programs on professional development for increasing competency , sharing best practices & experiences to empower the women in the corporate world of International Trade.   Exim Club invites the dynamic women members to join and register at Exim Club office.

The webinar and panel discussion was moderated by Ms. Manisha Thaker –EC member of Exim Club and Women’s Wing and Vice President Trialliance Global Solutions.

Welcome note by President Shri Rajan Nair: Chief guest Ms Geeta GoradiaSuccessful entrepreneur and Managing Director – Jewel Consumer Care Pvt. Ltd., Vadodara, Best Woman Entrepreneur Award from Centre for Entrepreneurship Development, Government of Gujarat, 2010  – she gave the inaugural remarks on Women’s Wing and spoke about gender equality. Women have a long way to go and are still lagging behind for their socio-economic status and rights for equality. She also shared that women must be treated as shoulder-to-shoulder with men and work together. She also said that women should be involved in policy making and women’s participation is fundamental to democratic governance.

Panel discussions with Speaker Ms. Sanjam Sahi – Director Sitara shipping and founder of Maritime Sheo on gender equality & inspiring success story  from father to daughter in marine industry. She shared her experience as a change maker to the marine industry and followed her passion. She said nothing is impossible, let women spread her wings and fly high. She said being empanelled as a gender expert with the UN Escap and IMO , more changes need to to have been done for women leaders to create that space.

Panel Discussion with Speaker MS. Sonali Banerjee – First Indian lady Marine engineer on tanker ship  the insights shared by her was the challenges she  faced while trying to break the glass ceiling for being the first marine engineer on tanker ships. It has been an amazing experience for her on ships while sailing and overcoming the challenges boldly is what is true women power. The  message that she gave  for women who are self-made and not born in privileged circumstances is follow your dream and be confident in everything you do. Every day is new day and fly high and sky is the limit. More than 55 + participants were in the webinar with includes ladies from corporate, entrepreneurs , and women at leadership positions and distinguished guests , trustees of Exim Club and members of Exim Club  also participated and graced the event with an overwhelming response for Women’s
