Paradip International Cargo Terminal handles the longest ship with biggest parcel size of cargo

PARADIP : m.v. ARTVIN a Panamax gearless bulk carrier with a length overall (LOA) of 229.07 meters was berthed at Paradip International Container Terminal at berth no. 1, for an export consignment of pig iron. The vessel was the longest ship berthed at Paradip International Cargo Terminal since its inception. The vessel was successfully loaded with 66,129 MT of pig iron which is the biggest ever parcel size of cargo handled.

At the same time other ships were also handled at berth no. 2 of the terminal, thereby occupying a total quay length of 419 m which also resulted in the highest quay length utilisation; the terminal’s total quay length is 450 meters. The team at the terminal made sure to plan everything right down to every last detail, to ensure suitable storage, feeding and loading with utmost safety and efficiency
