SINGAPORE : PSA Singapore has been named “Procurement Team of the Year – Large Organisation” at the recent CIPS Asia Excellence in Procurement Awards 2022, held during this year’s ProcureCon Asia in July! The event also marks the team’s first-ever participation in the Awards.
Jointly organised by ProcureCon and the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS), the Awards are widely considered to be the most prestigious recognition in the procurement and supply chain profession, as well as a benchmark for procurement excellence. ProcureCon Asia is also Asia’s largest procurement conference where the most established procurement professionals in the region come together to share their best practices, while CIPS is the world’s largest procurement professional body.
The “Procurement Team of the Year – Large Organisation” award recognises a high-performing procurement team that has made significant improvements to their performance and culture, resulting in increased effectiveness, influence, efficiencies, savings, or a competitive advantage.
Against the backdrop of supply chain disruptions occurring at global ports around the world, the PSA Singapore Procurement Division – supported by Group Procurement – has been proactively rising to the occasion with their many innovations and best practices in their sourcing strategies. Their collective effort has enabled PSA Singapore to continue their operations 24/7, helping to ensure that global supply chains remain open, and as much as possible alleviate their customers’ logistics constraints.
The Division’s other procurement project “Tuas Megaport – World’s Largest Sustainable Port” was also highly commended under the “Best Sustainable Project of the Year” award category, which recognises social, environmental, and responsible procurement projects.
