
Supply chain & transport industry charter for humanitarian supply chain resilience
GENEVA : Recognizing the impact of multi-stakeholder collaborative action, and value of broad industry engagement
in support of global humanitarian response, we, as members of the supply chain, transport, and logistics
industries, express our support for resilience and capacity building of humanitarian supply chains. This, to
better prepare for humanitarian aid logistics, with the goal of ensuring continued access to essential supplies
for vulnerable populations, addressing a critical component for achieving the Sustainable Development
Goals
We will focus our best efforts as a strong collective on supporting the humanitarian community, subject to
internal regulations, and thereby intend to:
i. Engage with governments, customs authorities, and humanitarian organizations to enter into
private-public partnerships, as appropriate, that ensure fast, prioritized, and safe global movement
of humanitarian supplies to accelerate inclusive humanitarian aid response for vulnerable
communities
ii. Participate in operational asset and competency sharing, as appropriate, and where requested by
UN Agencies and NGOs, to resolve bottlenecks and fill potential gaps in humanitarian supply
chains.
iii. Support humanitarian organizations with prioritization and solutions for international and in country
distribution of humanitarian aid and related supplies. Provide support to requests for information,
response, resources, including expertise, assets and emergency calls for action
This document does not represent a formal engagement. If further documents shall be issued to execute the
purpose of this charter, they shall comply with the proper assessment and formalities according to internal
regulations.
