NOIDA : Two important projects of Greater Noida — the multi-modal transport hub and the multimodal logistics hub — will be soon linked to the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan. Officials said this would make it easier to develop both the projects in better coordination.

Both these projects will be developed under the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC)-Integrated Industrial Township Greater Noida Limited (IITGNL) near Bodaki. And the  aster plans of these two projects will soon be uploaded on the portal of GatiShakti, a scheme launched by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in October last year for or providing multimodal connectivity infrastructure to various economic zones in the country.

“Ports and other parts of India are being connected to townships through dedicated freight corridors.

For this, a multi-modal logistics hub will be set up here. Next to this, a multi-modal transport hub will be built, which will have a state-of-the-art railway terminal,” CEO and Managing Director of DMIC-IITGNL Board Surendra Singh said.

“State and inter-state bus stands will also be built. The same will be connected to the mass rapid transit system. Efforts are being made to start these two projects soon after acquiring land from the farmers. Joining the GatiShakti programme will help in faster completion of these projects,” the managing director of DMIC-IITGNL said.

Officials informed that the land acquisition work is almost complete. Tenders for construction will be issued as soon as the land is transferred in the name of IITGNL. It will take two years to construct the railway line. More than Rs 800 crore will be spent on this.

The interiors of the logistics hub will be developed on a public-private partnership (PPP) model. Customs clearance will also be available here. This will also speed up the work of the import-export units, they added.

Singh said on Thursday that over 1.10 lakh youth will get direct employment opportunities in the multi-modal transport and logistics hubs and the integrated township of IITGNL.

“While one lakh jobs will be available from transport and logistics hubs and more than 10,000 jobs will be found in industries set up in the integrated township,” he said.

The Integrated Industrial Township, situated in an area of around 750 acres, is one of the smart projects in the country.
