NEW DELHI : Container Corporation of India (CONCOR) plans to enhance its first-mile and last-mile logistics services by adding 200 more Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) trucks to its fleet. This initiative aligns with Concor’s strategy to improve efficiency and reduce environmental impact by utilizing cleaner fuel options.

According to Mr. V. Kalyana Rama, Concor’s Chairman and Managing Director, this expansion will support the company’s goal of transitioning to greener logistics solutions. The addition of LNG trucks is expected to significantly lower carbon emissions compared to traditional diesel-powered vehicles. LNG being a cleaner and more efficient fuel, aligns with global trends toward sustainable transportation and logistics practices.

The deployment of these LNG trucks will primarily enhance Concor’s first-mile and last-mile connectivity, ensuring smoother and more reliable movement of goods. This step is crucial in bridging the gap between major transportation hubs and the final delivery points, ultimately improving overall supply chain efficiency.

Concor’s initiative also reflects a broader shift in the logistics industry towards adopting greener technologies. By increasing the use of LNG-powered trucks, the company aims to set a benchmark for sustainability in the sector. This move is anticipated to not only reduce operational costs but also attract environmentally conscious clients, further boosting Concor’s market position. This investment in LNG technology underscores Concor’s commitment to innovation and environmental stewardship, paving the way for a more sustainable future in logistics and transportation. The company plans to continue exploring similar initiatives to enhance its operational capabilities and environmental performance.
