ZIM announces Asia-US service network

HAIFA : ZIM announced the launch of a new premium service, ZIM Central China Xpress (ZX2), connecting Central China to the US West Coast.

The ZX2 service will begin operations on 3 July 2024, with ZIM claiming the service will offer the industry’s fastest transit time of 13 days from Ningbo to Los Angeles.

The Israeli ocean carrier has noted the following major features of the service:

  • Dedicated berths at origin and destination ports for seamless arrival and departure
  • Expedited import containers discharged to ZIM-dedicated chassis for quick delivery
  • Efficient rail connections for swift inland distribution within the United States
  • Streamlined import process with no appointment needed for expedited cargo pickup
  • Dedicated lane for import pick-up, eliminating queues

“The launch of ZX2 demonstrates ZIM’s continued focus on meeting and exceeding customer expectations by offering agile and high-quality premium services that address the evolving demands of the market. We are committed to providing best-in-class shipping solutions with unique premium features,” stated Hani Kalinski, ZIM EVP Pacific Business Unit.

Additionally, ZIM has decided to add Vietnam’s port of Cai Mep to the port rotation of its existing ZEX service. The first arrival at the port of Cai Mep is expected on 16 July with the container ship ZIM Falcon.

The new ZEX rotation will be Cai Mep, Vietnam – Yantian, China – Los Angeles, United States – Cai Mep, Vietnam.
