NEW DELHI : Ahead of the Budget session of the Parliament, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi said that the Finance Minister will present the budget with ‘disha-nirdeshak baatein‘.

The PM said the government will continue with the tradition to present an interim budget when the election is around. “We will present the full budget after we form the government after the election,” Modi said.

He also sounded a warning to the opposition urging them to not disrupt the proceedings. “I hope the MPs who are in the habit of ripping apart democratic values will self-introspect on what they did in their term as members of Parliament,” said the PM.

The Prime Minister also said that the country is touching new heights of progress and asserted that its journey of “inclusive and all-round” development will continue with people’s blessings.

He added that the first session in the new Parliament building had ended with passage for the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam Bill or the Women’s Reservation Bill.

“After that, on 26th Jan we saw how the country experienced the capability of Nari Shakti, its valour, the strength of its resolve,” he added.

The Budget session, which is scheduled to conclude on February 9, will also witness Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presenting the interim budget on February 1.
