BCBA organised ‘Logistics Conclave 2024’ : A landmark towards ‘Logistics in Amritkaal’
MUMBAI : Brihanmumbai Custom Brokers Association( BCBA) organised ‘Logistics Conclave 2024‘ following the aim of “Logistics in Amritkaal: Paving the Path for India’s Golden Era” at Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, Mumbai on June 27, 2024. The conclave commenced with ceremonial lamp lighting in the presence of the esteemed Chief Guest Shri Pramod Kumar Agrawal, Principal Chief Commissioner of Customs, Mumbai Zone – I, other distinguished Dignitaries were Shri Shyam Jagannathan – DG Shipping, Shri Unmesh Wagh – Chairman JN Port Authority, Shri B K Tyagi – Chairman Shipping Corporation of India, Shri Rajesh Pandey – Chief Commissioner Mumbai Zone II Customs, Shri Piyushkumar Shah – Reliance Industries, Shri G S Rana- DMD State Bank of India.
The top officials from shipping, port trusts, customs, industry, and banking gathered for this grand event, kicking off with a vibrant lamp-lighting ceremony and dignitary felicitations.
Mr. Dushyant Mulani, President of BCBA, inaugurated the Inaugural Session with an Impactful opening address for the Logistics Conclave 2024 along with Senior Vice President, Mr. Sanjeev Harale. Mr. Dushyant Mulani in his inaugural speech highlighted about the National Logistics policy and Atmanirbhar Bharat for the Amritkaal Vision 2047. He pointed out the importance of transitioning to paperless, automated processes to improve efficiency and address hindrance in customs clearances, and about the upcoming infrastructural developments, such as the Vadhavan Port and Navi Mumbai International Airport, which will revolutionize logistics activities in the region.
Mr. Pramod Kumar Agrawal, Principal Chief Commissioner of Customs,Mumbai Zone 1 in his Key Note address stated he is deeply impressed with the vision of Govt. and the policies and initiatives. that Indian Custom Brokers are playing very important transformative and positive role in EXIM Trade. He said that Custom brokers are the only community in India who are licensed by Customs Dept. to work as their Agent and who are authorised to work on behalf of Customs. He also said that it is an immense pride for him, his colleague and whole Customs Dept. that Customs Brokers being in the center in organising ‘Logistics Conclave’ which shows that Custom Broking is not only for export and import Customs Clearance. By pointing out the Vision and Mission Statements of BCBA, he said he feels proud when Customs Broker are talking about the New India and Vikshit Bharat. In an exclusive interaction with India Shipping News, Mr. Pramod Kumar Agarwal emphasised that event like “Logistics Conclave” raising awareness about the challenges and possibilities of the supply chain industry. He also added that New government policies and infrastructural developments in PM Modi’s 3.0 term would rise the logistic industry to the highest.
Shri Shyam Jagannathan, Director General of Shipping spoke about the safety of Indian Seafarers and the ongoing Red Sea crisis. He also congratulated JNPA for their 35th Anniversary and for being the Best Performing Port in container handling.
Shri Unmesh Wagh – IRS, Chairman JN Port Authority focused on the cabinet clearence of the Vadhvan Port and the hurdles faced for the environment clearance. He also provided an overview of the Vadhvan Port and highlighted the significance of this mega port and analysed its various aspects, emphasizing how it will boost the Indian Economy. He further emphasized on the collaboration of JNPA & JNCH and the initiatives taken by implementing several world class infrastructural developments at JNP to reduce logistics cost. Mr. Wagh, praised BCBA for the collaboration with JNPA for training of students at Palgarh District and offering jobs to 200 students.
One of the major and important attraction of the event was seen that:-, BCBA, President, Mr. Dushyant Mulani, and Mr. G.S. Rana, DMD, SBI Bank, along with senior members of BCBA and SBI signed an MoU at the Logistics Conclave 2024 for progressive collaborative partnership.

Other distinguished personalities which includes Dr. Deepankar Sinha – HoD Trade & Logistics, Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, Captain Deepak Tiwari – Chairman, CSLA, Shri Shankar Shinde – Chairman, International Federation of Custom Broker Associations (IFCBA) & BCBA Vice President, Mr. Paresh Thakkar also gave their important views about the fastest growing Indian Economy and expanding logistics scenario of India. Ms. Mitali Nikore – Consultant, World Bank enlightened about the growing role of women in the logistics and warehousing industry.
