PM Modi to visit US on Sept 21st to 23rd and attend Quad Summit

NEW DELHI : Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is scheduled to be in the US from September 21-23 to attend the Fourth Quad Leaders’ Summit. The Prime Minister will also address an event at the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

Ministry of External Affairs’ release indicates that, PM Modi will attend the Quad meeting in Wilmington, Delaware, which will be hosted by US President Joe Biden. The Quad, or Quadrilateral Security Dialogue, comprises India, the US, Japan and Australia.

At the Quad Summit, the leaders will review the progress achieved by the Quad over the last one year and set the agenda for the year ahead to assist the countries of the Indo-Pacific region in meeting their development goals and aspirations. On September 23, PM Modi will address the ‘Summit of the Future’ at the United Nations General Assembly in New York, which will be attended by several world leaders. On the sidelines of the Summit, the Prime Minister would be holding bilateral meetings with several world leaders and discuss issues of mutual interest.

While in New York, PM Modi will address a gathering of the Indian community on September 22. He will also be interacting with CEOs of leading US-based companies to foster greater collaboration between the two countries in the cutting-edge areas of AI, quantum computing, semiconductors and biotechnology, the MEA said.

PM Modi is also expected to interact with thought leaders and other stakeholders active in the India-US bilateral trade. The next Quad Summit will be hosted by India.
