CONCOR CMD visits Braithwaite & Co. Ltd to bolster collaboration in logistics and manufacturing
NEW DELHI : In a significant step towards enhancing India’s logistics and manufacturing capabilities, the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Container Corporation of India Limited (CONCOR) Sanjay Swarup, visited Braithwaite & Co. Limited (BCL) on Friday. He was accompanied by Ajit Kumar Panda, Director (Projects & Services), and a team from CONCOR.
The delegation was warmly received by Md. Asad Alam, CMD of BCL, along with senior officials of the organisation. During the visit, Swarup and Panda inspected key manufacturing projects, including the 20-ft ISO Tank Container designed for bulk cement transportation and the BLSS Wagon (25T Spine Car) at BCL’s workshop. The review also encompassed other wagons and containers being produced for CONCOR.
Praising BCL’s engineering prowess, Swarup remarked, “Braithwaite has demonstrated exceptional engineering expertise and a commitment to excellence. As CONCOR continues to expand its logistics infrastructure, we see immense potential for collaboration in areas such as wagon and container procurement.”
Md. Asad Alam assured Swarup of BCL’s commitment to fulfilling supply orders for CONCOR while emphasizing the importance of fostering partnerships to achieve shared objectives of efficiency and sustainability in logistics and rail transport.
The visit also facilitated discussions on infrastructure development, supply chain optimization, and leveraging indigenous engineering capabilities to support the government’s “Make in India” initiative. Both organizations reiterated their commitment to advancing India’s logistics infrastructure and contributing to the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ mission.
CONCOR, a Navratna Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Railways, and BCL, a Miniratna-I Central Public Sector Undertaking (CPSU) also under the Ministry of Railways, aim to synergize their efforts to enhance the nation’s logistics network and manufacturing expertise.
