
SCI shows remarkable growth of 145.61% PAT in H1 FY24-25
MUMBAI : The Shipping Corporation of India (SCI), a midcap player in the shipping industry, has reported positive financial performance for the second quarter of FY24-25, showcasing significant growth metrics. The profit after tax (PAT) for the half-year reached Rs 582.92 crore, reflecting a remarkable increase of 145.61%.
Additionally, net sales for the same period stood at Rs 2,965.03 crore, marking a growth of 29.29%. SCI’s operating profit demonstrated a robust annual growth rate of 25.59%.
The company maintains a low debt-to-equity ratio of 0.26, indicating a stable financial structure. Despite achieving a return on capital employed (ROCE) of 11.03%, the highest recorded to date, the average ROCE over time is lower at 7.45%, suggesting some challenges in management efficiency.
With a market capitalization of Rs 9,544 crore, SCI is the second-largest company in its sector, accounting for 29.07% of the industry. However, institutional investor participation has declined by 4% in the last quarter, with their current stake standing at 9.26%.
