Gujarat aims to become IT Hub with ₹7,000 Cr investment in ‘Million Minds’ Tech City
BENGALURU : Gujarat is positioning itself as a major IT/ITES hub in India with the launch of the ‘Million Minds’ Tech City in Ahmedabad. The Tech City, spanning 18 million square feet (msft), is being developed on a 65-acre area with a total investment of ₹6,000–7,000 crore. The project is being developed in phases, with the first phase already completed, delivering 1.4 msft of ready development.
Viren Mehta, President of Sales and Marketing, Ganesh Housing Corporation Limited spoke on the sidelines of the second roadshow for the Gujarat IT/ITES Policy 2022-27 in Bengaluru. He highlighted the policy’s success in attracting interest from over 200 leading IT/ITes companies. Mehta also explained Ganesh Housing’s role in working closely with the government as a real estate developer to build infrastructure that will support the IT/ITES sector.
Elaborating on the interest received, Mehta noted that Ganesh Housing has received nearly over 900 crore in investment for the Tech City. Additionally, apart from IT companies, other service industries have also shown interest. “Out of the 900 crore of investment, roughly 200 crore is coming from the telecom and financial institution,” he told.
Commenting on the event, Anmol Patel, Director of Ganesh Housing Corporation Limited said, “With the support of the government and the Gujarat IT/ITES Policy, our vision for Million Minds Tech City is not just about developing another township, but creating a thriving ecosystem. A place where innovation, luxury, and community converge—home to six state-of-the-art tech parks, high-end residences, co-living spaces, a premium hotel, and expansive shopping malls.
The event also saw speakers including Mona Khandhar, IAS, Principal Secretary of the Department of Science and Technology, Government of Gujarat, and Tushar Y Bhatt, IAS, Managing Director of Gujarat Informatics. They were joined by industry leaders, policymakers, and senior officials from the Government of Gujarat.
