Sarbananda Sonowal inaugurates the Chintan Shivir 2025 at Srinagar

SRINAGAR : Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, Hon’ ble Minister of Ports Shipping and Waterways,  inaugurated the Chintan Shivir 2025, in the august presence of Shri Shantanu Thakur, Minister of State for Ports Shipping and Waterways, on 06.03.2025 at Srinagar.

Shri Sonowal added, “Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi has set the course for a new resurgence in India’s maritime sector. Over the next two days, the Chintan Shivir will enable deliberations with the aim to realise this vision and chart the roadmap for a Viksit Bharat through a Viksit Maritime sector.”

Shri Susantha Kumar Purohit, IRSEE, Chairperson VoC Port, presented  the Green initiatives and pollution control measures undertaken by the Ports Shipping and Waterways sector and highlighted  the roadmap for meeting ambitious targets of Maritime India Vision 2030 & Amritkal Vision 2047, following Harit Sagar guidelines for the Maritime Sector for creating a green ecosystem.   The event was attended by senior officials from MoPSW and Chairpersons of all organisations under the Ministry of Ports Shipping and Waterways, charting a  roadmap of India’s maritime sector.
