Adani Ports cargo volumes jump 42% in December

AHMEDABAD : Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) on Tuesday announced it has posted 35.65 million metric tonne (MMT) cargo volume, a record 42% year-on-year rise in cargo volumes  in December 2023.

While dry bulk cargo handling was up 63%, the handling of containers increased by over 28% on an annual basis.

For the quarter ended in December, APSEZ handled around 109 MMT of overall cargo, with around 106 MMT contributed by its domestic ports portfolio, the company said in its regulatory filing on Tuesday.

Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) recorded a 42% increase in cargo volumes in December 2023, reaching 35.65 million metric tonnes (MMT). Dry bulk cargo handling saw a 63% rise, while container handling increased by over 28% year-on-year. In the last quarter of 2023, APSEZ handled a total of 109 MMT of cargo, with 106 MMT contributed by its domestic ports portfolio. APSEZ aims to surpass 400 MMT of cargo volumes in FY24, exceeding its previous guidance range of 370-390 MMT.
