CMA CGM is shipping 55 tons of medical supplies free of charge to help tackle the Covid-19 pandemic in Tunisia

To mark the visit by Mr. Jean Castex, France’s Prime Minister, to Tunisia for the Third French-Tunisian High Council for Cooperation meeting, France is showing its solidarity with Tunisia in the fight against Covid-19 by donating medical supplies.

The CMA CGM Foundation is handling an emergency shipment of 55 tons of medical supplies

In all, 20 containers of medical supplies are due to arrive in the Port of Radès from Marseille, including almost 5 million FFP2-grade facemasks and 1,800 ventilator consumables. The first container arrived in the Port of Radès this morning aboard the CMA CGM Group’s Mont Ventoux ship.

The large-scale operation is being coordinated by the CMA CGM Foundation and the CDCS (the Crisis and Support Centre of the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs). It aims to meet the urgent needs of hospitals in Tunisia, which are facing a resurgence of the pandemic

Strong partnership between the CMA CGM Foundation and the CDCS

The CMA CGM Foundation has taken part in 11 humanitarian relief operations harnessing its transport assets and its maritime, logistics and air freight expertise under its partnership with the CDCS first established in January 2020. Recently, it handled the shipment of emergency relief from France to India in response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
