CONCOR CFS/Milavattan operates EXIM container rake from Tuticorin

TUTICORIN : Container Corporation of India Ltd. has marked a significant operational milestone at its CFS Milavattan, with the successful handling of an EXIM container rake from Tuticorin.

Undertaken in collaboration with leading global shipping line Hapag-Lloyd, the train carried 90 TEUs (20-foot containers) from Tuticorin to Inland Container Depot (ICD), Tondiarpet, Chennai. This movement marks a strategic step towards enhancing multimodal connectivity and improving the efficiency of cargo evacuation from southern ports.

The successful execution of this rake operation underscores CONCOR’s commitment to strengthening rail-based logistics solutions, reducing transit time, and ensuring cost-effective cargo movement for EXIM trade. It also highlights the growing importance of Tuticorin as a key logistics hub in India’s maritime ecosystem.
