CONCOR leadership strengthens global engagement with strategic visit to Marseille Fos Port
MARSEILLE : In a significant step towards expanding international collaboration and strengthening India’s multimodal logistics footprint, Sanjay Swarup, Chairman & Managing Director of Container Corporation of India, along with a senior delegation, visited the Port of Marseille Fos on 19 March 2026.
The CONCOR delegation included Harish Chandra, Principal Executive Director (Finance) & CFO; Gayatri, Area Head (South); and Paresh Agrawal, Group General Manager (Business Development). The team engaged in productive discussions with Robin Guillon, Head of European & International Affairs – Business Development & Intermodal Solutions Division.
Recognized as France’s leading port and a key logistics hub in Southern Europe, the Port of Marseille Fos plays a pivotal role in facilitating global trade flows. Strategically located on the Mediterranean coast, the port serves as a vital gateway connecting Europe with Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. Handling approximately 79 million tonnes of cargo annually and accommodating nearly 10,000 vessels, the port supports a diverse cargo mix including containers, liquid bulk, dry bulk, and project cargo, catering to around 800 global customers.
During the visit, both sides explored opportunities for enhancing cooperation in intermodal logistics, port connectivity, and sustainable supply chain solutions. Discussions also focused on leveraging Marseille Fos’ advanced infrastructure, digitalization initiatives, and rail-port integration capabilities to strengthen seamless cargo movement between Europe and India.
The interaction highlighted CONCOR’s commitment to expanding its global partnerships and adopting international best practices in multimodal logistics, while also aligning with India’s vision of improving logistics efficiency and reducing carbon footprint through greater rail-based transportation.
This visit marks another milestone in CONCOR’s ongoing efforts to build strategic alliances with leading global ports and logistics stakeholders, reinforcing its position as a key player in India’s logistics and supply chain ecosystem.
