SHANGHAI : COSCO SHIPPING Holdings is proud to announce the successful launch of its Mexico Express Service (WSA5). This milestone was marked by the inaugural docking of the “Xin Dalian” vessel at Ensenada Port, Mexico, creating a more efficient trade link across the Pacific and significantly enhancing connectivity and economic cooperation between Asia and Mexico.

In recent years, Mexico has become a focal point for global enterprises and investments, driven by its vibrant market. In the first four months of 2024, Mexican ports experienced an 18.2% year-on-year growth in total throughput, with the nine Pacific coast ports seeing a 19% increase in container traffic. This underscores the immense potential for economic collaboration between Asia and Mexico.

COSCO SHIPPING Holdings is dedicated to building a world-class digital container supply chain ecosystem tailored to customer needs. The company is continuously enhancing its service network in Mexico by increasing route capacity and developing an integrated multimodal transportation and supply chain system.

Currently, COSCO SHIPPING operates 12 container liner routes to Mexico, with a capacity exceeding 220,000 TEUs. The newly launched Mexico Express Service offers 3,000-5,000 TEU slots per voyage, ensuring faster delivery times and ample weekly capacity. This service efficiently connects key Mexican Pacific ports such as Ensenada, Manzanillo, and Lázaro Cárdenas with major Far East ports including Busan, Dalian, Ningbo, Shanghai, and Qingdao. Through seamless connections with sea-rail and sea-land services, COSCO SHIPPING provides reliable, stable, and highly competitive end-to-end supply chain solutions for global customers.

Additionally, COSCO SHIPPING signed three Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with Hisense and Hutchison Ports on the same day. These agreements include the Hisense Monterrey factory warehousing project, the Hutchison Ensenada yard project, and the Hisense Tijuana factory in-plant logistics project. These partnerships aim to advance fully digital supply chain cooperation, further integrating COSCO SHIPPING into its clients’ industrial chains and marking a new chapter in its business development in Mexico.

As the brand impact of the Mexico Express Service continues to grow, COSCO SHIPPING’s advancing digital supply chain will create greater value for trans-Pacific trade and contribute significantly to global economic recovery and prosperity.
