DB Schenker expands in Dubai further

DB Schenker announced the start of construction of its third expansion phase, Dubai Logistics Center III (DLC III). Another mega logistics center at Dubai South’s Logistics District, bringing the total contract logistics footprint in Dubai to 84,000 square meters by June 2022.

The groundbreaking ceremony took place in the presence of His Excellence Khalifa Zaffin, Executive Chairman of Dubai Aviation City Corporation, Christopher Smith, CEO Middle East Africa, DB Schenker and Ako Djaf Vice President Contract Logistics /SCM Middle East and Africa, DB Schenker; among other senior executives from both companies.

DB Schenker expands in Dubai further: Green logistics center

The new state-of-the-art, green logistics center will have a 37,000 square meter warehouse space that includes a 5,000 square meter mezzanine area dedicated for value-added services and spare parts operations. In addition to temperature-controlled areas and ambient temperature zones, it will also utilize 100 percent renewable energy.

The Dubai Logistics Center I, II, and III will support our ambition of becoming the sustainability leader in our industry. Many features of the planned DLC III, for example, being 100 percent solar-powered, is all in support to deliver this commitment. Deep gratitude to His Excellence Khalifa Zaffin and our colleagues, customers, partners, continuous support of whom helped to turn this exciting project into reality.”

The logistics service provider DB Schenker also released recently a video, which gives more and deeper insights into their expansion, the Dubai Logistics Center and their journey in the region Middle East and Africa so far.
