Delhi-Mumbai Expressway update: Kalol-Godhra Stretch of Vadodara-Delhi section is complete
GODHRA : The Vadodara-Delhi section of the 1,386 km long, 8-lane wide Delhi-Mumbai Expressway consists of 31 packages. Among these, Package 29, connecting the Kalol Interchange to the Godhra Interchange, is approximately 100% complete.
This package spans 23 km and has been constructed at a cost of Rs. 1,122 crore by PNC Infratech on an EPC basis. According to the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), the financial progress of the project stands at 98.55%.
As the expressway extends towards Godhra, the road is fully ready, equipped with protective side railings and signboards. At Kilometer 798+150, wayside amenities have been constructed on both sides of the expressway, and work on these facilities appears complete.
The highway construction is finished, and tree plantations along the divider have been completed, with plants being maintained regularly. The entire package is ready for operation. Another interchange is being developed at the NH47 Indore-Ahmedabad Highway as the package comes to an end. On this interchange, the east road leads to Godhra, while the west road connects to Ahmedabad. This trumpet-type interchange, with two loops, is fully ready, including toll plazas.
Package 29 has been ready for months, as it was also complete when we shared the previous progress report in November last year. However, it is not yet open for traffic because Package 30 is still under construction. As Packages 29, 30, and 31 form a 68 km stretch connecting Vadodara to Godhra, all three packages are expected to open simultaneously once work on Package 30 is complete.
On the other hand, Package 30, which spans 22 km from Pratapnagar to the Kalol Interchange, is still under construction. Bitumen laying work is ongoing in most sections, with work on canal bridges and lane markings also pending.
