DG Shipping, Maersk discuss Collaboration on Offshore Safety and Seafarer Welfare at India Maritime Week 2025

MUMBAI: On the sidelines of India Maritime Week 2025, the Directorate General of Shipping (DG Shipping) held a high-level meeting with the Senior Director of A.P. Moller – Maersk Group to explore avenues for deeper collaboration on offshore safety, maritime security, and seafarer welfare.

The discussions centered on strengthening frameworks that promote safer seas, enhanced crew wellbeing, and global best practices across the maritime sector. Both sides emphasized the vital role of seafarers as the backbone of international trade and reiterated their shared commitment to improving working conditions and safety standards across maritime operations.
