
DG Shipping to Commemorate 75 Years with ‘Ocean Sentinel 2025’ Conference on Maritime Safety and Security
MUMBAI : Marking a significant milestone in India’s maritime journey, the Directorate General of Shipping, under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Government of India, is set to commemorate 75 years of dedicated maritime service with the launch of a landmark conference series titled Ocean Sentinel 2025. The first of this knowledge-sharing trilogy will focus on “Maritime Safety & Security in the 21st Century” and is scheduled to take place on Monday, August 11, 2025, at Fairmont Sahara, Mumbai.
Held under the guiding principle “Jalasya Rakṣā, Janasya Surakṣā” — “Protection of the ocean is protection of the people” — the conference aims to address critical maritime challenges in the face of rising grey-zone conflicts, hybrid threats, climate-linked vulnerabilities, and shifting global maritime dynamics.

- MoU signing with the International Group of P&I Clubs
