DPA Kandla showcases vision for sustainable maritime growth at VGRC Rajkot

RAJKOT : Shri Sushil Kumar Singh, IRSME, Chairman, Deendayal Port Authority (DPA) Kandla, visited DPA’s theme-based pavilion at the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference (Kutch & Saurashtra) held in Rajkot, reaffirming the Port Authority’s commitment to sustainable and future-ready maritime development.

The pavilion highlighted DPA’s initiatives in sustainability, innovation and clean energy, showcasing the Authority’s ongoing journey towards a greener and more resilient port ecosystem. Through interactive displays and thematic presentations, the pavilion reflected DPA’s focus on green technologies, operational efficiency and environmentally responsible port-led growth.

On the sidelines of the conference, Shri Sushil Kumar Singh also delivered a special address during the session titled “Gujarat as an Emerging Shipbuilding Hub.” In his address, the Chairman underscored Gujarat’s growing strengths in shipbuilding and maritime infrastructure, highlighting the state’s strategic coastline, robust port connectivity and expanding industrial ecosystem.

He emphasised Gujarat’s pivotal role in shaping India’s global maritime competitiveness and noted that sustained policy support, innovation-driven growth and public–private collaboration would be key to positioning the state as a leading hub for shipbuilding and allied maritime industries.

The Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference provided an important platform for stakeholders to deliberate on regional growth opportunities, with DPA Kandla actively contributing to discussions on sustainable maritime development and port-led economic progress.
