FFFAI ties up with IIM Mumbai & IIFT Kolkata to launch courses on Shipping & Logistics in April 2024

MUMBAI : The Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations in India (FFFAI) in its 4th EC meeting held on February 28 and 29 in Mumbai unveiled a landmark development in respect of the interest of the entire logistics industry in India. The umbrella organization of Indian Customs Brokers and Freight Forwarders, FFFAI has tied up with two of the most prestigious academic institutions, “Indian Institute of Management” (IIM) Mumbai and “Indian Institute of Foreign Trade” (IIFT) Kolkata to launch courses on Shipping & Logistics through collaboration between FFFAI’s training arm Indian Institute of Freight Forwarders (IIFF).

It is pertinent to mention that IIM Mumbai previously recognized as the National Institute of Industrial Engineering, Mumbai (NITIE Mumbai), is a graduate business school under the Ministry of Education (India), Government of India located in Powai in Mumbai, and is ranked 7th among B-Schools of India.

The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade was established as a Centre of Excellence in International Trade & Business, Education and Research in 1963. It is an autonomous educational institute under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. It was granted “Deemed to be University” status in 2002.

Secretary, IIFF.

The PG Diploma Certificate on Shipping, Logistics and Supply Chain Management course will be validated by IIM, Mumbai. “It will be a huge opportunity for FFFAI members as well as all aspirants from the Logistic industry to avail the benefits of this course across the country thanks to the online facility,” he added.

He also informed that a similar course will be started from April 15, 2024 collaborating with IIFT, Kolkata.

Complementing Dr. Thakker, Dr. Pramod Sant, Director General FFFAI, who is closely monitoring as well as evaluating IIFF courses, observed that after completing these courses there will be tremendous job opportunities for the IIFF-IIM Mumbai as well as IIFF-IIFT Kolkata certificate holders with very lucrative packages.

He further pointed out that during these courses there will be unparalleled knowledge and networking opportunities. The course contents will cover Import-Export, Customs Broking, Port Operations, Shipping & Freight Forwarding, Multimodal Transportation, Supply Chain, Warehousing, Data Analytics, AI, and other allied activities. Both courses will be conducted by top Faculty from IIM, IIFT, and Industry Experts from FFFAI/IIFF.

In his address, Mr. Tej Contractor, President, IIFF highlighted that the institute has already carved a niche in the logistics industry training domain as well as the academic sector. Mr. Contractor informed that IIFF is receiving regular requisitions to provide placement in their companies. He appreciated the efforts of the FFFAI’s Immediate Past Chairman Mr. Shankar Shinde and Chairman Elect Mr. Amit Kamat in signing the Agreement between FFFAI and IIM Mumbai as well as IIFT Kolkata.
