
FinMin empanels B.A.V. Srinivasa Rao and Lalit Prasad as Principal Commissioner of CBIC on ad-hoc Basis
NEW DELHI : The Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs (CBIC) under the Department of Revenue has recently issued an Office Order informing the empanelment and promotion of B.A.V. Srinivasa Rao and Lalit Prasad to the grade of Principal Commissioner of Customs & Indirect Taxes in the Indian Revenue Service (Customs & Indirect Taxes).
The Officers have been promoted to the Level 15 Pay Matrix Higher Administrative Grade (HAG) against the panel year 2025 on an ad-hoc basis with effect from the date of assumption of charge, which shall not be before 01.04.2025.
The CBIC has reiterated that the promotion of both, B.A.V. Srinivasa Rao and Lalit Prassad have been conducted on an ad-hoc basis and therefore does not confer any right upon them to claim for continued officiation or regular promotion within their newly bestowed designation. Furthermore, the period served in the ad-hoc period shall not be includable to estimate the duration for the consideration of matters such as seniority or qualifying service for further promotion.
In the same office order, the Department has also laid reference to the prior Office Order No.18/2025 dated 31.01.2025 and Officer Order No.46/2025 dated 03.03.2025 and notified the promotion of Nasim Arshi, Yashodhan Arvind Wanage and M.G. Thamizh Valan to the grade of Principal Commissioner of Customs & Indirect Taxes in the Indian Revenue Service (Customs & Indirect Taxes) in Level 15 of the Pay Matrix (HAG) against the panel year 2025 on a regular basis.
The appointment shall be rendered effective from the date that they had assumed the charge of the post of Principal Commissioner of Customs and Indirect Taxes on an ad-hoc basis priorly.
