GCCI NRG Centre hosts Webinar on Trade & Investment opportunities in Ontario, Canada

AHMEDABAD : The GCCI NRG Centre, Ahmedabad, in association with the State of Gujarat NRG Foundation, Gandhinagar, successfully organized an insightful virtual webinar on “Trade & Investment Opportunities in Ontario, Canada” to promote global business linkages and explore new avenues for international collaboration.

The session commenced with a warm welcome and introductory remarks by Ms. Vitasta Kaul Vyas, Chairperson, NRG Centre, who emphasized the importance of strengthening global partnerships and enabling Gujarat’s MSMEs to explore emerging international markets. This was followed by a theme address by Ms. Pruthvi Patel, Co-Chairperson, NRG Centre, who highlighted GCCI’s continued commitment to providing its members with strategic global exposure and actionable market intelligence.

The keynote address was delivered by Mr. Haranjan Jan Singh, Senior Economic Officer, Ministry of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade, Government of Ontario. He provided a comprehensive overview of Ontario’s dynamic and innovation-driven economy, outlining the province’s strong industrial base, investor-friendly regulatory framework, and robust infrastructure.

Mr. Singh highlighted significant opportunities for Indian MSMEs across key sectors including textiles and apparel, advanced manufacturing, agri-business and food processing, information technology, clean energy solutions, and timber trade. He also elaborated on Ontario’s supportive policies, incentive programs, and collaborative platforms designed to encourage foreign direct investment, joint ventures, and technology partnerships. The session offered valuable insights into market entry strategies, supply chain integration, and avenues for cross-border collaboration.

An interactive Q&A session enabled participants to engage directly with the speaker, seeking clarity on sector-specific prospects, regulatory procedures, and potential partnerships. The discussion reflected strong interest among Gujarat-based enterprises in expanding their footprint in the Canadian market.
