GMB to delibrate and formulate India’s First Policy on Cruise Tourism

GANDHINAGAR : Gujarat Maritime Board (GMB) witnessed history unfolding, with a record cargo handling of 488 MTPA in 2024-25. With multiple facets of the maritime industry being aced by the Board, the time is now ripe for GMB to deliberate and formulate India’s 1st Policy on Cruise Tourism, according to a communique.

With this purpose, GMB is hosting a Stakeholder Consultation Workshop, in close coordination with the Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Limited, the Home Department and the Urban Development Department of the Government of Gujarat. The Workshop is titled “Gujarat Cruise Tourism Policy: Unlocking Gujarat’s Coastal Potential for Cruise Tourism Growth” on Cruise Tourism to formulate the said policy on the 6th of May 2025 (Tuesday) in The Lalit, Mumbai.

The Workshop will consist of an Inaugural Session, Session I and Session II, which will be a Panel Discussion comprising of experts from the industry.
