India and France strengthen Maritime Partnership
NEW DELHI : India and France took significant steps toward enhancing their maritime partnership during a high-level meeting held on November 27, 2024, in New Delhi. The discussions centered on deepening bilateral cooperation in maritime security, sustainable ocean governance, and advancing collaborative opportunities in the Indo-Pacific region.
The meeting was held to discuss potential collaborations between India & France on maritime trade. Indian delegation was led by Secretary MoPSW Shri. T K Ramachandran while France was represented by Mr. Gérard Mestrallet, Emmanue lMacron’s Special Envoy for IMEEC
The meeting highlighted the growing strategic relationship between the two nations, particularly in safeguarding maritime interests and promoting freedom of navigation. Senior officials from both countries deliberated on joint exercises, technology-sharing in marine defense, and the blue economy’s potential for driving sustainable growth.
