Indian Major Ports handled highest ever Cargo of 819.4 MMT and investment exceeding Rs.12,500 Cr in 2023-24
NEW DELHI : India’s Major Ports under Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways (MoPSW) experiencing steady growth, indicating positive developments in the country’s trade and logistics sectors.
In 2023–2024, India’s 12 major ports have handled the highest ever Cargo of 819.4 Million Metric tonnes.
Also in FY 2023-24, Indian Major Ports saw substantial investment exceeding Rs. 12,500 Cr through capital infusion and sanctioning and awarding of Public Private Partnerships. This investment is poised to enhance infrastructure, boost efficiency, drive economic growth in the maritime sector.
