International Logistics Park to be built at Uran-Karanja

MUMBAI : The National Logistics Policy on the transportation and storage of raw materials and manufactured goods for industrial production has been announced recently. For this purpose, nine such parks are going to be created in the state of Maharashtra. In Raigad district, an international logistics park at Uran-Karanja will be created and its responsibility has been given to MIDC.

“A national policy on transportation and storage of raw materials and manufactured goods for industrial production was announced recently. Accordingly, logistics parks are going to be started in nine different places in the state, making port facilities available in arid regions. Multi-logistics parks are also going to be set up in the districts of Jalna, Nashik, Jalgaon, Akola, Hingoli, Ratnagiri, Raigad, Sangli, Bhiwandi, Pune etc. A fund of Rs 450 crore was also sanctioned for this recently”, said a source.

Therefore, new changes in the field of cargo transportation and storage will be seen. Logistics created in Raigad district. The responsibility of the park has been given to MIDC. And a site at Karanja in Uran taluka has been fixed for it. And a consultant will be appointed to prepare the development plan and development report of this site. MIDC has floated the tender as well.
