JNPA hosts high-level delegation from Govt. of Andalusia, Spain
MUMBAI : Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) was pleased to host a distinguished delegation from the Government of Andalusia, Spain, comprising senior government officials and representatives from the Port Authority of Algeciras, one of Europe’s leading container ports.

The delegation was warmly received by the Deputy Chairperson, Shri Ravish Kumar Singh, IRTS, along with senior officials of JNPA. During the interaction, the delegation was presented with a comprehensive overview of JNPA’s operational capabilities, state-of-the-art port infrastructure, capacity expansion initiatives, and digital transformation measures aimed at enhancing efficiency and ease of doing business.
Special emphasis was laid on JNPA’s sustainability-led growth model, including green port initiatives, renewable energy adoption, emission reduction measures, and the port’s commitment towards achieving long-term environmental goals. The delegation was also briefed on the vision, development roadmap, and strategic significance of the upcoming Vadhvan Port, envisioned as a next-generation mega port that will further strengthen India’s maritime trade and global connectivity.
As part of the visit, the delegation toured the Centralised Parking Plaza (CPP) to observe the implementation of technology-enabled solutions for seamless truck management and congestion reduction. The delegation also visited JNPA SEZ, gaining first-hand exposure to modern warehousing facilities, value-added logistics services, and the integrated ecosystem supporting manufacturing and trade-led growth.
The visit provided an opportunity for meaningful exchange of ideas and best practices in port management, logistics, sustainability, and global maritime cooperation. It also explored potential avenues for collaboration between Indian and Spanish ports, particularly in areas such as port operations, green technologies, smart logistics, and capacity building.
The visit reaffirms JNPA’s commitment to fostering international partnerships, promoting innovation, and building future-ready port ecosystems aligned with India’s vision of becoming a global maritime and logistics hub.
