JNPA signs MoU with ICPP, Ashoka University to develop Logistics Cost Index

MUMBAI: Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) signed an MoU with the Isaac Centre for Public Policy (ICPP), Ashoka University, Delhi, in the august presence of Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, Hon’ble Union Minister of Ports, Shipping & Waterways.

The MoU aims to develop a Logistics Cost Index – a pioneering reference framework that will enable port authorities to determine tariffs through both cost benchmarking and port benchmarking, tailored to different cargo types and commodities.

A Logistics Cost Index designed for India’s trade profile will help track logistics cost efficiency, identify bottlenecks, and serve as a baseline for ports to move towards market-driven tariffs in the future.
