MUMBAI: In a major push towards India’s port infrastructure expansion, Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) , the country’s largest container port, signed three significant Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) on the second day of India Maritime Week 2025. These strategic collaborations mark a pivotal advancement in the development of the upcoming Vadhvan Port project, one of India’s most ambitious maritime initiatives.

The MoUs were inked between JNPA and leading industry players —

NCC Limited – ₹26,500 crore

WAN HAI Lines – ₹20,000 crore, and

Hindustan Construction Company (HCC) – ₹6,500 crore

Collectively valued at ₹53,000 crore, the agreements aim to accelerate key infrastructure works and operational frameworks essential for the realization of the Vadhvan Port.

Once operational, the Vadhvan Port is expected to transform India’s maritime logistics landscape, significantly enhancing cargo handling capacity, promoting coastal and international trade, and boosting India’s competitiveness in global shipping.

The signing of these MoUs underscores JNPA’s commitment to driving India’s port-led growth vision under the Maritime India Vision 2030 and aligns with the Government’s efforts to develop world-class port infrastructure and connectivity.
