JSW Infra announces Rinkesh Roy as new CEO
MUMBAI : JSW Group firm JSW Infrastructure Ltd on Tuesday (October 8) announced that Arun Maheshwari will step down as joint managing director and CEO, effective November 7, 2024.
Maheshwari, who will continue serving on the board as a non-executive director, is transitioning to a new role within the JSW Group. He has also resigned from his positions as joint managing director and key managerial personnel of JSW’s subsidiary, South West Port Limited.
“…we hereby inform you that Arun Maheshwari has step down from the position of Joint Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer and consequently as a Key Managerial Personnel of the Company, however, he will continue to serve as a Non-Executive Director on the Board of the Company,” JSW Infrastructure said in a regulatory filing.
ollowing the recommendation of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee, JSW’s board has appointed Rinkesh Roy, President of the company, as the incoming joint managing director and CEO effective November 8, 2024.
“We also hereby inform you that based on the recommendation of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee, the Board, at its meetings held today, has approved the appointment of Rinkesh Roy as a Joint Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer and consequently as a Key Managerial Personnel of the company with effect from November 8, 2024,“ it said.
Roy, aged 54 years, holds a master’s degree in public management from the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University; and the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy Fellowship, National University of Singapore, and is also a bachelor of arts (economics honours), securing first rank from Utkal University, India, in 1990. He was appointed as the president of the company with effect from August 1, 2024.
He was previously associated with the Government of India since 1992 as an IRTS officer and has an experience of over 30 years in railway operation, shipping, ports and logistics. During this stint, he also held the position of chairman for major ports like Paradip, Vishakhapatnam, Tuticorin and Kamrajar for various durations, He also held the position of the chairman of Dredging Corporation of India.
