MUMBAI: Magenta Mobility, India’s largest and fully integrated commercial EV logistics solutions company, Monday announced a strategic expansion and realignment of its leadership team as it prepares for its next phase of accelerated growth in electrification of cargo movement.

Under the new structure, Mr. Maxson Lewis, currently CEO and Director, will transition into the role of Founder & Chairman, while Mr. Sujit Cherian has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

This leadership transition comes at a defining moment for Magenta, as India pushes toward net-zero commitments and rapid electrification of logistics. By strengthening leadership continuity and sharpening operational focus, Magenta is aligning itself to capture emerging opportunities in EV fleet electrification, and clean energy partnerships. The shift signals the company’s intent to move beyond its foundation phase into a period of accelerated growth, deeper collaborations, and wider impact across India’s clean energy ecosystem.

In his new role as CEO, Sujit Cherian will lead Magenta’s strategic vision, operational excellence, commercial partnerships, and market expansion. Founder Maxson Lewis will focus on long-term strategy, technology, and advancing Magenta’s mission of accelerating clean mobility with industry bodies and government.

Commenting on the changes, Maxson Lewis, Founder & Chairman of Magenta Mobility, said, “From a small team with a bold vision to becoming one of India’s most trusted names in clean mobility, Magenta’s journey has been nothing short of remarkable. This leadership transition is about future-proofing that journey. With Sujit leading day-to-day operations, I will focus my energies on not only shaping the long-term roadmap for Magenta but for the Indian EV logistics ecosystem as a whole – from technology alliances, industry collaborations to global opportunities in the long-term future, to ensure we continue to stay ahead in our mission of decarbonising mobility.”

Sujit Cherian, the newly appointed CEO, added, “I am excited to lead Magenta into its next phase of growth. With a strong foundation built by Maxson, we are poised to scale our fleet and deepen industry collaborations, and deliver transformative impact as India accelerates its clean mobility transition.”

Magenta Mobility continues to build on strong fundamentals, with partnerships with leading mobility, e-commerce, and logistics firms. Backed by a fleet of 2,700+ electric vehicles across 22 cities, the company has already enabled 600+ Lakh clean kilometres. With sharpened leadership focus and a clear vision, Magenta is well-positioned to expand its fleet and enter new service segments and play a defining role in the electrification of transport in India.
