Mahindra Logistics Limited expands its fulfilment operations in Bengal

KOLKATA : Mahindra Logistics Ltd is embarking on an expansion journey in West Bengal, bolstering its presence in the Eastern region with the inauguration of its third fulfilment centre in Malda. Covering an extensive area of 1.1 lakh sq ft, this facility manages fulfilment operations and facilitates last-mile deliveries efficiently. With the addition of 14 last-mile delivery stations, Mahindra Logistics aims to serve approximately 15,000 households daily, catering specifically to grocery and e-commerce customers.

This expansion marks a significant milestone in Mahindra Logistics’ strategy to offer comprehensive logistics solutions, integrating fulfilment, express, and mid- and last-mile services. Strategically located to cater to Northern West Bengal, Eastern Bihar, and parts of the Northeast, the centre boasts a daily processing capacity of 10,000 orders and an inventory capacity exceeding 15 lakh unit, ensuring seamless delivery operations to meet the region’s growing demands.

Moreover, this initiative is not only about business expansion but also about creating opportunities. The establishment of the fulfilment centre is expected to generate over 750 job opportunities, with a commitment to diversity by aiming to fill 25% of roles with women and individuals from the PwD and LGBTQIA+ communities.

Rampraveen Swaminathan, Managing Director and CEO of Mahindra Logistics, emphasised the strategic positioning of the Malda facility to cater to demand centres efficiently, aligning with the company’s vision of providing integrated supply chain solutions nationwide. This initiative also reflects the company’s dedication to supporting the government’s vision of transforming the eastern region into a powerhouse of economic growth.
