Major Ports present master plans at MoPSW Review Meeting, chairs by Shipping Secy

NEW DELHI : Chairmen of all Major Ports in the country presented their respective master plans in a high-level meeting chaired by Shri T.K. Ramachandran, Secretary, Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways (MoPSW), at Transport Bhawan.

The meeting focused on aligning the long-term development vision of ports with the national maritime agenda, with an emphasis on infrastructure modernization, green port initiatives, and improving logistics efficiency. Each port authority showcased its roadmap for capacity expansion, adoption of digital technologies, renewable energy integration, and strengthening multimodal connectivity to hinterland regions.

Shri Ramachandran stressed the importance of future-ready infrastructure to meet the rising cargo demand, particularly with India’s growing role in global trade. He urged the ports to accelerate execution of projects under the PM Gati Shakti framework and ensure sustainability targets are met, especially in reducing carbon emissions and promoting renewable energy.

Officials noted that the master plans would serve as guiding documents for investments, private participation, and policy support, enabling Indian ports to become globally competitive hubs.

The focus of the meeting was on aligning strategies for Port-Led Development with Maritime lndia Vision 2030 and Maritime Amrit Kaal Vision 2047, ensuring that the maritime sector drives growth, sustainability & global excellence.
