Mawani inks MoUs with the world’s leading global shipping lines MSC, Maersk and CMA CGM
RIYADH : The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) has signed three Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) with the Saudi Export Development Authority (Saudi Exports) and three of the world’s leading global shipping lines, Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC), Maersk, and CMA CGM.
This comes as part of Mawani’s efforts to support Saudi products in their journey to global markets through an integrated logistics services ecosystem connected to ports worldwide via major international shipping lines.
This provides exporters with broader opportunities for expansion and growth, enhances global market confidence in the quality of Saudi products, and ensures their delivery in the shortest possible time with the highest standards of efficiency and reliability.
The MoUs aim to strengthen Mawani’s role as a key link between national industries and global markets by establishing a strategic business framework for cooperation among the signatory parties.
This includes providing innovative, integrated, and efficient logistics solutions, facilitating the export of Saudi products to international markets, and enhancing the availability of empty containers at the Kingdom’s ports to ensure sufficient inventory levels that meet exporters’ needs.
They also aim to enhance cooperation in initiatives that contribute to expanding exports through launching workshops, conferences, and exhibitions to raise awareness, support exporters’ capabilities, assess satisfaction with logistics services, and promote national exports globally.
The MoUs seek to enhance the access of Saudi exporters’ products to new markets by providing innovative and effective logistics solutions through Jeddah Islamic Port, King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam, and Jubail Commercial Port, as well as through performance automation.
They also contribute to information exchange and logistics journey management across various shipping modes, offering Saudi exporters options related to export procedures and best practices for entering global markets, and providing specialised services for transporting Saudi exports.
Furthermore, the MoUs promote joint cooperation to deliver innovative solutions that improve export efficiency and accelerate supply chains for Saudi exports, as well as the exchange of national and international best practices in logistics operations and export management.
