RIYADH : The Saudi Ports Authority, known as Mawani, launched a maritime link with Bahrain through the Gulf Shuttle shipping service operated by MSC, via King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam.
It is part of the authority’s ongoing efforts to enhance maritime connectivity and expand shipping networks, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Wednesday.
The shuttle service connects King Abdulaziz Port with Khalifa bin Salman Port in Bahrain, with a capacity of up to 3,000 standard containers.
This initiative is part of Mawani’s efforts to strengthen the Kingdom’s position as a global logistics hub and a key link connecting three continents, the SPA stated.
King Abdulaziz Port is one of the Kingdom’s vital ports connecting it to global economies. It is distinguished by advanced infrastructure and integrated logistics facilities and includes 43 berths, with a capacity of up to 105 million tonnes of cargo and containers.
