MoPSW brief on Maritime Trade with Iran, Israel And Egypt

NEW DELHI : Union Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Shri Sarbananda Sonowal in a written reply to the Rajya Sabha informed that, various steps have been taken to promote maritime trade with Iran, Israel and Egypt.

Various Major Ports have extended applicable discounts and concessions on VRC and CRC. Various events and webinars such as “Chabahar Day” on 31^st July 2022, on 19^th Jan 2023 and workshop on “Linking Chabahar with INSTC” etc in Financial Year 2022-23 was also organised to promote and enhance the trade with Iran.

This Ministry through “Sagarmala Development Corporation Limited” had invited EoI for Seaplane Service under Sagarmala Project on 01.01.2021. On the due date of bid submission i.e. 22.01.2021, in response to the EoI, 8 companies submitted their application.
