INDORE : Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav emphasized the state’s potential to become an air cargo hub comparable to Delhi, after highlighting the developed infrastructure and strategic geographical location of Madhya Pradesh.

Speaking at the Annual Conclave of the ‘Air Cargo Forum of India’ (ACFI), the Chief Minister pointed out that Madhya Pradesh, located at the heart of India, benefits from an extensive network of railways, metro systems, and expressways. With ongoing expansions in air transport and cargo facilities, all seven airports in the state are poised to enhance their cargo handling capabilities.

Dr. Yadav noted that Madhya Pradesh stands out as the only state with established interstate air services, the ‘PM Shri’ Air Ambulance service, and helicopter services to boost tourism. The state has already developed adequate infrastructure to support both air transportation and air cargo operations.

The Chief Minister also highlighted the construction of a cargo hub, which he believes will unlock the state’s resources, promote trade, and create employment opportunities. A dedicated desk, ‘Future Ready Madhya Pradesh,’ has been set up to position the state as a future business center.

He reported that the state’s economic growth rate exceeds 20 percent, with agricultural growth at 25 percent. In the state budget presented on July 3, there was a 16 percent increase in allocations compared to the previous budget.

Dr. Yadav concluded by stating that Madhya Pradesh currently transports products worth 6 billion dollars via air cargo, underscoring the immense potential for growth in the air cargo industry within the state.
