Ashwani Kumar unanimously elected as the new President of FIEO, aims to enhance the competitiveness of India’s exports expanding its global footprints

NEW DELHI : Mr Ashwani Kumar, Partner, Victor Forgings, Jalandhar has been unanimously elected as the New President of the Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) on March 11, 2024.

Mr Ashwani Kumar is well known and popular business entrepreneur and exporter from Jalandhar (Punjab), representing the engineering sector of exports. A widely travelled businessman, Mr Kumar has held several key positions in different renowned organizations of the country including FIEO as the Chairman (Northern Region) and Member of the Managing Committee of the Federation; Member of the Governing Body of NIT, Jalandhar; Convenor of Hand Tools Panel (Pan India) and Deputy Regional Chairman (Northern Region), EEPC India.

Besides serving as the Regional Chairman (Northern Region), Mr Ashwani Kumar has also represented various forums of Jalandhar including its Focal Point Industries Association, Effluent Treatment Society, Management Association, Badminton Association, Integrated Association of SMEs, Doaba Airport Association and is also a Trustee of K L Saigal Memorial Trust.

Mr Kumar’s extensive experience, acquired through various roles within the government and multiple associations in Punjab, FIEO will undoubtedly enhance the services to the exporting community of the country. Under his leadership with deep knowledge and understanding of international trade, combined with his commitment to fostering growth and innovation, the Federation will continue to thrive and navigate the challenges, seizing the opportunities of the global market. The New FIEO Chief’s vision is both inspiring and pragmatic, aiming to enhance the competitiveness of India’s exports sector thereby expanding its global footprint.

Mr Ashwani Kumar, who has taken over the reigns of the Federation at a time when global trade is undergoing a sea change, also envisions to make exports a national priority in collaboration with all the stakeholders. FIEO, under his leadership, would work shoulder-to-shoulder with the Government to achieve this objective
