GENEVA : Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC), in collaboration with the Shipping Corporation of India (SCI), has expanded its IPAK Service by adding the Port of Sines in Portugal. The move enhances connectivity between the Indian subcontinent, the Middle East, and key European destinations.

With Sines joining the network, the service will deliver improved transit times to Western Europe and greater access to a world-class deepwater port featuring advanced logistics capabilities. The move also highlights Portugal’s increasing significance as a strategic link in global trade corridors.

Major ports across India, the UAE, and Europe, with Sines joining established hubs such as Valencia, Gioia Tauro, and Antwerp will cover under the updated IPAK rotation. This expansion aims to increase sailing frequency, shorten transit times, and offer greater flexibility to exporters and importers.

Industry experts note that the addition of Port of Sines reflects the rising demand for India–Europe trade and underscores the strategic value of partnerships between global shipping majors like MSC and national carriers such as SCI.
