SINGAPORE : On 15 and 16 November 2021, 34 Pacific International Lines (PTE) Ltd seafarers who are non-Singapore resident, were vaccinated in Singapore. They are among the first batch of sea crew of ocean-going vessels to receive vaccination in Singapore.

This is an extension of the Port of Singapore’s Sea Crew Vaccination initiative which started in April 2021. This latest vaccination effort is being undertaken by the Shipping Tripartite Alliance Resilience (STAR) Taskforce, an international tripartite alliance led by the Singapore Shipping Association (SSA).

The PIL seafarers who received the doses are with our vessels Kota Halus, Kota Cabar and Kota Dunai. Singapore’s Senior Minister of State for Transport Mr Chee Hong Tat at witnessed the vaccination exercise on 15 November 2021, and our GM of Fleet Goh Chung Hung and Head of Marine Personnel Tracy Gao were in attendance.

We would like to convey our sincere appreciation to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) and SSA for facilitating the vaccination.

Looking ahead, PIL will continue to vaccinate more of our non-resident seafarers when they call at Singapore. This is part of PIL’s efforts to enhance and safeguard the health and well-being of all our seafarers.
