PARADIP : Paradip Port Authority achieved fastest-ever 50 MMT cargo throughput in FY 2025–26, milestone reached on July 27 — four days ahead of previous year; YoY growth at 2.84%. PPA is grateful to Hon’ble Union Minister Shri Sarbananda Sonowal ji & MoS Shri Shantanu Thakur ji for their visionary support.

In a significant operational milestone, Paradip Port Authority (PPA) has achieved cargo throughput of 50 million metric tonnes (MMT) in record time during the current fiscal year 2025–26. The landmark was reached on 27th July 2025, four days ahead of the corresponding achievement last year, demonstrating the port’s growing efficiency and robust cargo handling capabilities.

According to official data, the port registered a year-on-year (YoY) growth of 2.84%, underscoring steady performance across major cargo categories.

Cargo Growth Highlights:
Coal: 22.06 MMT (+0.53% YoY)

Crude Oil: 11.36 MMT (+14.97% YoY)

Containers: +27.80% YoY — marking a significant leap in containerized cargo movement

Fertilizer Raw Material: +8.41% YoY

These figures reflect both growing demand and improved handling efficiencies across various cargo streams. The surge in crude oil and container volumes has especially contributed to accelerating throughput at the port.

Commenting on the achievement, Shri P.L. Haranadh, Chairman of Paradip Port Authority, said: “with collective effort, Paradip Port continues to script maritime success stories. This record performance highlights our team’s commitment to operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and the port’s growing role in India’s logistics and energy infrastructure.”

Paradip Port has consistently ranked among India’s top-performing major ports and is playing a vital role in meeting the country’s growing trade and energy needs. The port’s strategic initiatives — including digital transformation, enhanced berth productivity, and multimodal connectivity — continue to support its upward growth trajectory.
