Paradip Port Authority strengthens maritime and mineral logistics vision for nation building

BHUBANESWAR : In a significant engagement aimed at advancing India’s infrastructure and industrial growth agenda, Shri P. L. Haranadh, IRTS, Chairman, Paradip Port Authority (PPA), met Shri G. Kishan Reddy, Hon’ble Union Minister of Coal and Mines, Government of India, in Bhubaneswar.

The meeting focused on strengthening port-led development, enhancing coal and mineral logistics, and accelerating infrastructure initiatives critical to supporting India’s expanding industrial ecosystem and economic ambitions.

During the interaction, discussions were held on improving the efficiency of the coal, mineral, and bulk cargo supply chain, recognizing the pivotal role of ports in ensuring seamless movement of key commodities essential for the power, steel, manufacturing, and mining sectors. Emphasis was placed on building robust multimodal connectivity, modern cargo handling capabilities, and logistics efficiencies to meet growing domestic and international trade demands.

The dialogue also explored opportunities for expanding port infrastructure, enhancing evacuation systems, promoting integrated logistics solutions, and enabling sustainable growth in the mining and maritime sectors. Paradip Port’s strategic importance as one of India’s leading gateways for bulk cargo handling, particularly coal and mineral traffic, was highlighted during the discussions.

Both sides acknowledged the importance of strengthening collaboration between the maritime, coal, and mining sectors to support the Government of India’s vision of self-reliance, industrial expansion, and infrastructure-led economic development.
